The Food
Aaron Workman continues the family theme. He is Missy's brother and a former chef at Chris McD's and Blue Cactus restaurants in Columbia, Missouri. Aaron creates specialty soups like sweet corn bisque with smoked shrimp salsa, loaded baked potato, and pepper steak just to name a few.
Lunch offerings feature a variety of deli style and grilled sandwiches, and entree salads. Our creamy chicken salad is blended with pecans, apples and dried cranberries, then heaped with lettuce and tomato and served on marble swirl bread. The grilled turkey artichoke sandwich, a local favorite, includes oven roasted turkey breast, caramelized red onions and a parmesan spinach artichoke spread. We think our Reuben is the best around and our Philly Cheese Steak and Barbecued Pork sandwiches are delicious. If you are in the mood for a salad, you should try the Cobb, the Greek or the House salads. We use fresh, homemade salad dressings and all salads and soups are accompanied by Uncle Johnnie's biscuit basket. You'll love the molasses butter that comes with our bread.
Friday night dinners are a special treat. We use white tablecloths, candles and fresh flowers on the tables and always offer prime rib, filet, and brandied chicken breast on the menu. Aaron changes our appetizer, seafood, pasta, and chef's creation each week. Our prices are competitive, our food original and creative. You won't find a better selection of homemade desserts anywhere around. The cheesecakes alone are legendary not to mention the cakes, cobblers, and pies that are all unbelievable!
